Afua Lamptey is one of two PhD employees on the DFG Emmy-Noether Junior Research Group 'African Regional Economic Communities (RECS) in Global Politics'. The group explores the agency and practices of RECs in shaping and implementing highly inter-related and securitized regional or global policy field. She studied International Affairs at the University of Ghana, Legon in Ghana. She has also worked at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Ghana.
