R for humanities and social sciences: basics to first applications
This course introduces the fundamentals of the R programming language with a focus on the humanities and social sciences. Over six half-day sessions, participants will learn to handle, visualize, and analyse data using R, starting with basic syntax and data manipulation techniques, progressing to specialized topics like textual and geospatial data analysis. The course uses practical examples from the humanities and social sciences and requires no prior R experience. The instructor is Thomas Köntges and the course takes place online via Zoom.

Registration
Registration is open until 13 September (follow this link). The workshop is open to everyone who is interested. Priority for a share of places is given to members of ReCentGlobe and the Graduate School for Global and Area Studies. Participation in all sessions of the workshop is credited as a key qualification (3 CP) for members of the Graduate School.
