The Summer School of the Leipzig Graduate School Global and Area Studies (GSGAS) has established itself in recent years as a productive meeting place for interdisciplinary discussion of global connections as well as new trends in globalisation research. The 2021 edition, organised in close cooperation with the Research Centre Global Dynamics (ReCentGlobe), will address the potential impact of the Covid 19 crisis on the role that science in general, and the social sciences and humanities in particular, can play after the crisis has been overcome.

To this end, the workshops and panels of the Summer School address: What are the mechanisms of knowledge production and how is knowledge disseminated and perceived in and between societies? What is perceived as useful knowledge and how is the discussion about it changing?

Interested PhD candidates and Postdocs are cordially invited to participate and join in the discussion.
