Abstract
Ninja Steinbach-Hüther received her doctorate degree with a thesis on publications by African intellectuals on the German and French book market in Paris and Leipzig. She then conducted research on the practice and concepts of geographical societies at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) and has been working on the T!RAUM project to strengthen municipal agency using the example of Aue-Bad Schlema since 2024. To this end, she accompanies urban decision-making processes and analyses their acceptance among various population groups.

My academic interests include the circulation of knowledge in a globalizing world, knowledge and cultural transfers, institutions and actors that are involved in transfer processes, spatial semantics, processes of spatialization, global and transnational history as well as method mix.
My teaching focus lies in the teaching of methods at the Global and European Studies institute at Leipzig university as well as in the teaching of seminars on transnational cultural transfers in cooperation with colleagues from Leipzig university and the Ecole normale supérieure Paris, as well as in working groups combining geographical research and digital humanities and Thesis Advisory Committees within the doctoral training of the Graduate School Globald and Area Studies at Leipzig university.
