  Interfaith encounters and reflection in a unique environment: this opportunity is given to you since 2015 by the LJSS, which is a two-week intensive study program by the faculty of Theology in Leipzig in cooperation with the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In the holy city of Jerusalem where Judaism, Christianity and Islam are present in a very dense space and in various facets, it is our goal to deal with topics concerning those world religions at different levels.

• Vorlesung im Sommersemester 2025: Theologie des Alten Testaments - Teil 1

  Diese Vorlesung gibt aus theologischer und (damit verbunden) anthroplogischer Perspektive einen Überblick auf das gesamte Alte Testament. Insofern eignet sich die Vorlesung vor allem als Bündelung gegen Ende des Studiums, bei gegebenen Voraussetzungen (vor allem Bibelkunde und Eigenengagement) auch als Einstieg ins Studium des Alten Testaments.

• Vorlesung im SoSe 2025: Jews and Protestants in Germany form the 19th Century to the Present

  This course is offered as a cooperation between the Hebrew University and the University of Leipzig. The 5-day course will be divided into in-class discussions, guided field trips in Leipzig and Wittenberg, guest lectures, and workshops. In addition, 1 day will be dedicated to a field trip to Wittenberg, focusing on the history of the Reformation and its impact on Jewish-Christian relations.

• Seminar im SoSe 2025: Qohelet

  Das Buch Qohelet gehört zu den faszinierendsten philosophisch-theologischen Texten des Alten Testaments. Hier wird eine Summe weisheitlichen Denkens geboten und zugleich werden die denkerischen Grundlagen des antiken Judentums vorbereitet. Im Seminar werden wir den gesamten Text des Qoheletbuchs auf Hebräisch lesen und inhaltlich erschließen. Entsprechend ist Interesse am Hebräischen notwendig. Das Seminar eignet sich als als Vorbereitung eines Examensschwerpunkts.

• Seminar im SoSe 2025: Adam und Eva im Alten Testament und in der Literatur der jüdisch-christlichen Antike

  Die Erzählung von Adam und Eva in Gen 2–3 gehört zu den mythologischen Grunderzählungen der gesamten Bibel mit vielfältigen Wirkungsspuren in die antike Welt hinein. Ausgehend von einer eingehenden Beschäftigung mit Gen 2–3 und verwandten Texten des Alten Testaments soll es in diesem Seminar darum gehen, dieser Wirkungsgeschichte nachzugehen.
