Abstract

In 2017, after studying German Language and Theology in Kiel and Basel Laura Gonnermann moved to Leipzig University for her PhD. Here she is research assistant at the Chair for 'History and History of Religion of Israel and its Environment' under Prof. Angelika Berlejung and representative for diversity policy.


Her PhD project focusses on hieroglyphically inscribed Egyptian amulets, which were found in Israel/Palestine during the first Mill. BCE. Besides the focus on the cultural contact between Egypt and Israel/Palestine, the amulets contribute to the history of religion in the context of the Hebrew Bible.
