Abstract
Fabian Michl has been Junior Professor of Public Law and the Law of Politics (tenure track to full professor) at the Faculty of Law at Leipzig University since 2021. He studied law at the University of Regensburg (2007-2012) and history and philosophy of law at the University of Edinburgh (2014/15). In 2017, he received his doctorate in Regensburg with a dissertation on the European Charter of Fundamental Rights. He was then a PostDoc at the Faculty of Law at the University of Münster, where he habilitated in 2025 with the monograph ‘Paradigms of Electoral Law’ (venia legendi for public law, European law, constitutional history and philosophy of law). His research fields include German and European constitutional law with a particular focus on the law of politics (party, electoral and parliamentary law), constitutional and contemporary legal history and constitutional theory.
