Abstract
Dr. Kefa Hamidi studied Communication and Media Studies and German as a Foreign Language at the University of Leipzig. In 2006, he was awarded the DAAD Prize for his thesis and his social commitment. From 2008 to 2013, he completed his doctorate at the University of Leipzig on the topic of "Journalism in fragile states: in the case of Afghanistan". From 2010 to 2013, he was a doctoral fellow of The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF). From 2015 to 2018, he coordinated the project "Journalism Education in Afghanistan" as a research fellow at IfKMW.
His research and teaching focus on development communication, communication for social change, advocacy communication and participation research, journalism research and international communication. He is the initiator of the platform mikopa and Transfertage- EC4SC.
Currently, he is the director of the Researchcentre Entwicklungskommunikation - Communication for Social Change (EC4SC) at the University of Leipzig.
